The Angel of El Tunco - Katherine Diaz Surfer last ride at 22? It is amazing some of the beautiful people we have met on this van life journey. After spending time on the beaches of El Tunco, El Salvador we had the privilege of watching local home time hero and Olympic hopeful surfer Katherine Diaz train for the upcoming Olympics. At just 22 she was a huge inspiration to many of your girls throughout the world of surfing and especially in her home country where she is loved by so many. We were fortunate to get some footage of her surfing/training just two days before Katherine was fatally struck by lightning. This is a tragedy that broke our hearts and devastated her local hometown and the international surfing community. Our hearts pour out to the family and to the community and hope that Katherine Diaz, the Angel of El Tunco will inspire you as she did us.
